Chapter 1.7: Baby Fever
Guess what everyone wants to wake up to in the morning when they're a regular person living on a celebrity lot in nothing but a camping tent?
Most definitely not a gaggle of tourists gathering outside your tent, excited to see which major celebrity lives inside, only to realize it's just a regular nobody.
One would think think that they'd be more embarrassed about their ridiculous socks with their sandals versus Charley who is just an innocent bystander. She paid for this lot with everything she owned and then some, they could have the common decency to leave her alone.
Even still it didn't stop them from heckling as she cut her pinky and had to limply stir her salad with one hand.
Common decency would be to help someone out when there bleeding out, but is there really any point to reasoning with tourists?
Charley just wanted to eat her salad in peace. But that was kinda hard to do when you don't have four walls to escape behind when you want to disappear from sight.
Instead Charley took the stare down approach, where she kept eye contact with the three tourists through, making them slightly uneasy. It was a small victory, but she knew that tourists will always be a thing, she did live close to Judith Ward, Thorne Bailey, and Octavia Moon. But maybe it won't be so bad once she has her own walls to hid behind.
So what better way to blow off steam from her embarrassment then to head down to Oasis Springs and hit up the gym. She was looked forward her visit back home with her family in Willow Creek, but she definitely agreed that it's been nice avoiding the heavy snowfalls and blizzards that she grew up with.
Sure she works in Willow Creek, but she works on the outside of Willow Creek so she doesn't have worry about it nearly as much, and the Valley just never snows. The most snow she's experienced this past week has been in San Myshuno where it snowed lightly a few times.
Charley was minding her own business enjoying the lack of snow in her life when all of a sudden Mr. Marcus Flex came over and started yelling at her, telling her to straighten her back, look forward, puff out her chest and start pumping those legs!
Too uncertain to argue, Charley did as she was instructed. Putting all her focus into not tripping that she didn't even notice a certain someone showed up, and don't worry, that's celebrity Kayla Zest also at the gym.
After having completed her 3rd mile on the treadmill, and Marcus' barking moved along to his next victim, Charley exhaustively dragged herself to the showers.
It was a most refreshing shower cause seeing that she was so stinky that it was basically noticeable to others.
On the way out to the lockers she ran into a familiar face.
"Oh hey, Minato..." Charley blushed a little embarrassed he caught her in nothing but a towel.
He didn't seem to mind too much, but he made the effort to avert his gaze so that she could get changed.
"How was your work out? You seemed to be going at it pretty hard with Marcus. He's a tough one for sure, but he knows his stuff." Minato observed with a smile.
"I'll be exhausted tomorrow, but I'll be headed off to Willow Creek to visit the family. So I should be able to relax there." Charley couldn't help but smile at the thought that he was checking her out when she wasn't paying attention. "Well, I better get going, Penny invited me over to meet Colton tonight. Have a great night, Minato. Maybe we can hangout this week."
Minato smiled, "Yeah, I'd like that."
Giddy, Charley left the gym and drove out to San Myshuno to see Penny.
On her drive up, she noticed she had a missed call and voicemail from Akira.
"Oh hey Char, uh... sorry I didn't say goodbye last night. Penny and I were tired so we decided to turn in. Hope you Minato had a good rest of the evening. I called cause I... well nevermind, you're busy. Have a good day, and I'll guess I'll be seeing you around."
Odd, but Charley hardly paid any attention to it as her ride pulled up to Penny's apartment.
First thing she did was tell Penny all about what happened at the gym today. Penny was pretty shocked, though she couldn't say she was exactly surprised.
"Well you know last night, A..."
A coo came from the other side of the room and Charley perked up. "Is that Colton I hear?" She asked moved over to the bassinet they had set up near the bed.
"Oh my goodness, who is this most handsomest man? Yes, you! You are just the cutest, and I just want to eat your wittle toesies."
Colton on the other hand was hardly amused by her faces. He just wanted his bottle and be done with it.
After a quick feeding and some more baby cuddles, Gavin returned from work. And Charley finally had the pleasure of meeting the man who stole Penny's heart.
Seriously look at these two, they are far too cute to handle. These were relationship goals that Charley aspired to of her very own. And then make little beans of her own!
Seriously just look at this little face. He's so cute and adorable. "You wouldn't notice if I just took home little Colton, would you?"
Penny laughed, "How about this, we let you watch him for an evening while we take a date night to ourselves, but he's mine forever and ever."
"Deal" Charley agreed. "Though now that I think about it, how do you plan to raise a child in a studio apartment?"
"Well Gavin and I talked to management and they've agreed to help make some changes so that we can at least make a bedroom for Colton and maybe any other little ones that want to come along."
Charley couldn't help but grin at the idea of her best friend having more children. "Well I want nothing but the best for both of you."
The rest of the evening passed without anything major happening and Charley returned home late, and already making plans to sleep on her way out to Willow Creek, cause she was going to be exhausted tomorrow.
