Little Legacy: Chapter 1.1

 1.1: Welcome to Adulthood!

Dear Mom and Dad,
I'm proud to announce that I've offically landed in Del Sol. I know this isn't the Foxbury future that you wanted for me, but I know that I'll be happy in my new home. I promise not to spend all my university savings in one place. Besides, I'll become a doctor long before you know it. Wish me luck!

Lots of love,
Charley

And sent! She knew she couldn't in good conscious tell her parents that she spent all her university savings on hot real estate in Del Sol, not to mention the $35,000 loan that she now has to pay back. No, it's better if she kept that to herself. They're busy working towards their retirement in Sulani. She couldn't put that financial burden on them, especially since this is her decision. Though, if ask her why she decided to move to Del Sol to become a doctor, she couldn't give a straight answer.

So off to Oasis Springs we go, looking for whatever collectibles that she could find and pawn off for some quick cash. After all, she didn't have a single cent to her name, so she had to start somewhere.

We managed to make enough cash from all the collectibles that we could not only buy a tent, but even had enough spare to comfortably relax for the evening and visit the Waterfront Warble for some late night Karaoke.

Unfortunately for Charley, the closest she got to making any friends that night was Moe Endo booing her for her awful singing skills. Maybe next time.

But one negative Moe wasn't enough to dissuade Charley from discovering her new favorite pastime. Turns out, they have Karaoke Contests every Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights. Guess we'll know where to find Charley on those days.

Charley used her special people skills, which don't translate to karaoke apparently, into some expert haggling. She managed to talk both vendors into giving her a 25% discount. While the produce was still a little overpriced, Charley made enough cash on the collectibles that she was comfortable spending the money. Besides the veggies will go into her garden which not only will feed her, but bring in small amounts of cash over time.

Maybe the disappointment of spending a little more than she wanted on produce  or perhaps it was the lack of welcoming friends or maybe it was just the reality of this whole endeavor, but her Tomato-wrapped Veggie Burrito just didn't taste quite as good as she hoped.

Embarassingly, she returned to her 'home' and crawled into her little tent to rest up so she'll be bright-eyed and alert for her first day as a Medical Assistant.
