Little Legacy: Chapter 1.20

Chapter 1.20: A Long Time Coming

The weekend finally arrived and Charley knew she had put this off for far too long. So the first they both had off, they were on the first flight out to Willow Creek to visit Grandma and Grandpa Little.

Meet Stuart and Beverly Little. Still just as much in love as they were the day they fell in love.

"Mom, Dad, guess who it is!" Charley called out, walking into the familiar sight of her childhood home.
"Is that...?" Her mother's voice exclaimed from the living room, some furniture shifting as her mother bumped several things as she rushed to the front door to greet her baby as well as her baby's baby.

"Oh boy, is that my sweet little Archer." Grandma Beverly cooed over the toddler, pinching his cheeks and kissing his forehead.
Archer wasn't entirely pleased with doting affection of his grandma. He'd rather be running around playing than smothered by Grandma. Luckily Grandpa came in and saved Archer from the emotional torture.
Beverly turned her attention to baby #2 instead, cooing at Charley's belly, whispering how much she was going to spoil them rotten.
Akira couldn't help but smile as he watched her parents dote over their children. It would've been nice if his parents would've been around for this as well, but he's glad that the kids at least have one set of grandparents to grow up with.

Granddaddy Stuart was busy taking Archer on his own private flight.
It was safe to say that he was thrilled about this compromise.

It was safe to say that it was necessary trip.

After the inital excitement of meeting, they retired to the living room. Poor Archer was pooped from all the excitement that he passed out on the couch.
"How is the city life treating you?" Beverly wondered. "We miss you so very much."
"Well we don't get snow like you do. And it storms all the time." Charley stressed.
"I may or may not have gotten struck by lightning once or twice..." Akira admited with a chuckle.
"Struck by lightning?" Stuart inquired stunned. "Are you..."
"Oh, I'm totally fine. Hasn't slowed me down." He chuckled, putting his arm around Charley. She grinned up at him and elbowed him playfully in the side. "Ah... that might've been a little much."
"Well I can see that the two of you are really good together," Beverly beamed over at her daughter and son-in-law. "I can't wait to see how much your family grows."
"Well, maybe one day we'll move a little closer." She smiled, reaching over and holding onto Akira's hand. "That is, if you haven't moved to Sulani before then." She teased with a laugh.

Archer's nap was interupted by someone flipping on the tv. Which make him awnery, so it was time to cut the rest of their visit short and get this little guy back home.

So Charley bid farewell to to her family, promising that they could come visit the kids whenever they wanted.
"You can count on that, pumpkin." Her father assured her as he squeezed her tightly.
"I miss you so much, Daddy."
"Take care of those kiddos. I know you're doing a great job so far. Archer is a wonderful boy." He pressed a kiss to her forehead. "Safe travels home..."

Charley nodded as she released her father and mother. She didn't realize how hard it was going to be leaving. She truly did miss her parents. Maybe starting her own family made her appreciate everything they've done for her. And now all she wants to do is give her family the life they deserve.

Guess she'll just have to wait and see how things things pan out for them. She had a legacy to start.
