Chapter 1.24: Toddler Days
Now that Amber was on her feet and moving about, her elder brother was starting to worry about his status in the household. There was a new toddler on the block after all.
It's easy to be smug about growing out of the bassinet, but there is still much to learn. Amber isn't exactly thrilled about learning to potty, but it's hard to say no to those big blue eyes. She's definitely has her mother's eyes.
Archer, being the older and wiser brother, has more wisdom to offer. Even though she thought she could look down at him, he had no problem imparting his knowledge onto his younger sister. At least that's what older brothers are supposed to do or something.
"So just bat your eyes at ma and da, then they be melting in your hands like butter. They try showing you all dese cards, and if you start crying a wittle, they stop."
All while Archer is imparting his wisdom, Amber was learning the magic of what a grilled cheese is. "Wha dis? Mm... it yum"
"Dats grill cheese. It like, the only thing Da makes. "
Amber learned quickly that Archer knew what he was talking about. One look and her parents were mush and wrapped cleaning around her finger.
Archer has already started working on his ninja skills. His stealth is pretty top tier already. Maybe this means he'll grow up to be a spy one day. But as of today, Akira is going to have a hard finding his elusive son.
"See, wha I tell you? You are doing great job"
"You so smart, Archie" Amber praised her elder brother.
"Watch me spell out those bad words ma and da shout out when we aren't looking."
"One day I be smart like you"
And on the the day before Archer's before Archer's birthday, he successfully mastered all that he could learn as a toddler. Giving a big hug to Rogers the Dragon seemed like the only appropiate response.
In the meantime, off at Willow Creek Hospital. Charley treated her final patient and earned herself that promotion to Chief of Staff. It seems all her hard work has finally paid off and she can start making the changes she needs to this hospital. Plus she won't have to worry about not being able to support her family and her new dreams.
Meanwhile, a certain doctor decided it was time to repay a visit to celebrate this special moment.
